Author Details Shri A.K. Majumdar, formerly, the Secretary of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. (ICAI), is a Post-Graduate in Commerce from the University of Calcutta and a Fellow Member of the ICAI. He was in the field of practice as a Chartered Accountant for about a decade and then joined the Institute in an academic position and rose to become the Director of Studies and then the Secretary of the Institute. He has had various important academic associations with institutions of national and international stature including Central Board of Secondary Education, Board of School of Management Studies of the Indira Gandhi National Open University, NCERT, Kota Open University and Education Committee of International Federation of Accountants. He was also associated with various Technical Committees of ICAI including the Company Law Committee. He is, once again, in active practice of the profession. Dr. G.K. Kapoor, a Co-winner of NIRC, ICAI Best Teacher Award 2000, is an author of various books on Law including Company Law and Practice, Business and Corporate Laws, Economic, Labour and Industrial Laws for C.S. (Inter), Corporate Laws and Secretarial Practice. He has 39 years of teaching experience of Business and Corporate Laws at under-graduate, post-graduate and professional levels. He has been on the Guest Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Indian Law Institute, All India Management Association, Indian Institute of Bankers and Indian Institute of Public Administration.
