He took a law degree and was admitted to the bar in 1973. He practiced in Banda and Kanpur and then moved to the Allahabad High Court in July 1975.A keen sportsman, Yatindra Singh represented the State of UP in Table Tennis, and was captain, champion and colour holder of the University of Allahabad in Table Tennis and Squash. He has appeared in many important cases in the Allahabad High Court including the famous case which created history by reinstating the Kalyan Singh government in February, 1998. He was Additional Advocate General for the State of UP from 26-3-1997 to 4-2-1999 and was appointed as a permanent judge of the Allahabad High Court on 5-2-1999.
