Author Details Professor P Leelakrishnan has had a versatile career as lawyer, writer and professor. He taught law at Cochin University of Science and Technology for 30 years, with a brief stint of three years research at London School of Economics from where he obtained his Ph D. as Head of the Department. Dean and Emeritus Fellow in the Cochin University School of Legal Studies, Professor Leelakrishnan has authored several books and research papers. An expert in constitutional law and administrative law, he has been instrumental in pioneering discourses, research and studies in consumer and environmental laws in India. His other books are Stage Carriage Licensing in India, Administrative Law and Environmental Law Case Book. Editor of Cochin University Law Review for about two decades, he has also edited four books—Consumer Protection and Legal Control, Law and Environment, New Horizons of Law and Law and Tribal Welfare. Convener of the UGC Panel and Curriculum Committee in Law during 1995 to 2001, Professor Leelakrishnan was a member of the NHRC task force on Human Rights and Duties Education and a member the UGC committee for framing Guidelines for Human Rights Education during the Eleventh Plan. .............................................................................................................................
