Author Details Dr. Sebastian Paul Born in 1947, Dr Paul began his chequered career in journalism at Kerala Times, a provincial daily. For about a decade, he was with the Indian Express. During his stint as lawyer, he was reporting the High Court of Kerala for The Hindu and UNI. He took his doctorate in law from the Cochin University of Science and Technology. He is teaching media laws at Kerala Press Academy and writing a weekly media column- Fourth Estate- in Madhyamam. Dr. Paul is currently a lawyer in the Supreme Court of India. He was elected to the Lok Sabha form Ernakulam in 1997, 2003 and 2004. He was a member of the Press Council of India from 2004 to 2009. His wife, Lizamma Augustine, is member of the Company Law Board in Chennai. They have three sons. Don Sebastian is with Reuters in Bengaluru, Ron Bastin is a lawyer in Delhi and Shawn Sebastin is a student at St Stephen’s College, Delhi. .........................................................................................................................
