Description
As a reletively recent legislation, the Competition Act, 2002, as amended by the Competition (Amendment) Acts of 2007 and 2009 and largely brought into foce in 2009, there is a definite requirement for books or commentaries serving as a vade mecum for the discerning readers in the market. It is to fulfil the need for such a book that the present book is placed in the hands of the readers. Effectively, the book deals with every provision in the Act and expounds its meaning from the angle of a legal interpreter. All the relevant Rules and Regulations made pursuant to the Act have been incorporated. The commentaries have been made in crisp style without needless verbiage and interspersed with available case laws thus enhancing the utility of the book. The Appendices to the book, inter alia, include the findings of the Raghavan Committee Report, the erstwhile MRTP Act, 1969 and other relevant laws.
