Description
This classic and popular work has been thoroughly revised and updated for its new eighth edition. An analytical survey of the legal developments in the Indian context and a comprehensive treatment of the subject are the highlights of the book.
The book covers the case-law and other legal and constitutional developments till 2004. Important cases decided by the Supreme Court of India in the last fifty years have been briefly discussed and also Constitutional Amendments up to the Constitution (Ninety-second Amendment) Act, 2003 have been incorporated.
Selected topics in Chapter 8, Chapter 11, Chapter 14 and Chapter 18 have been revised. For example, in order to keep the reader abreast of the recent developments, the author has included topics like Judicial Activism, the Common Civil Code, Vajpayee's Law Diplomacy and the Undeclared Kargil War and also briefly mentioned recent incidents like the rise and development of terrorism, attack on Parliament and Akshardham Temple, the Lahore Declaration, the God lira train burning incident, Telgi stamp fraud, creation of three new states, summary of Infotech law etc.
