Description The enactment of Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 was a step to curb economic insecurity due to massive industrialisation and urbanisation. Since then the scope of the Act has been gradually enlarged and developed into a comprehensive provident-cum-pension system.
