Description In the field of social insurance legislation in India, the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948 is the first of its kind as it introduces the compulsory insurance of a Specified class of wage earners against certain Inevitable risks. It incorporates ratio of decisions of the Supreme Court and High Courts besides amendments made to the Act, Rules and Regulations. In addition a Referencer is also given to clarify the disputed or doubtful aspects of day-to-day use which is supported with Judicial Interpretations.
